Busy Bee Care Providers, Inc. provides intermittent or regularly scheduled non-medical care and supervision through the California Regional Center system. Our caregivers support people with developmental disabilities and behavioral support needs according to each person’s authorization, applicable plans, preferences, and routines.
Support shaped around the person
Every person communicates, learns, and experiences the world differently. We listen to the individual, family, and authorized support team so services can reflect the person’s strengths, choices, privacy, daily routines, and level of support.
Attentive and compassionate supervision
- Supervision consistent with the person’s authorized needs
- Support for familiar routines, communication, and daily schedules
- Implementation of applicable pre-existing behavior support strategies
- Calm, respectful responses when the person shows signs of distress or escalation
- Support that protects dignity, privacy, and personal choice
- Use of agency safety and emergency procedures when needed
Personal care and daily living
When included in the authorized service and within the caregiver’s training, support may include hygiene, dressing and grooming, toileting, meals and hydration, feeding assistance, mobility, transfers, and medication reminders. Medication administration or medical care is not provided unless it is separately authorized, permitted, and supported by the required training.
Independence and familiar routines
Caregivers may support self-help and daily-living skills identified in the person’s plan. This can include making choices, participating in routines, preparing for activities, and cleaning up items directly related to meals, personal care, or activities completed during the respite visit.
Meaningful activities and community outings
Respite can include reading, creative activities, games, music, hobbies, outdoor time, recreation, conversation, and companionship. Community outings may also be supported when they are included in the person’s authorization or IPP, appropriate to the individual plan, and within Busy Bee’s approved service scope. The activity, destination, meeting arrangements, and level of supervision are confirmed before the outing. Busy Bee does not provide transportation. Transportation to and from the community location must be arranged separately by the family or another authorized party.
Communication and documentation
Caregivers record service dates and hours, document support provided, and communicate significant concerns or events according to agency and Regional Center requirements. Families receive relevant updates while each person’s privacy is respected.
Behavior Respite is not therapy or crisis care
Caregivers may implement applicable strategies from a pre-existing plan, but they do not assess, design, or independently change clinical treatment plans. Behavior Respite is not ABA therapy, medical care, or emergency crisis response.
